Bahrain This Month sat down with Nawal Joz, Managing Director of JOZ Salons and Spas to discuss the beauty treatments on offer this spring.

Doctor Fish pedicures
The salon will be introducing Doctor Fish pedicures to the Kingdom in April. This unusual method of treating the feet and toes employs flesh-eating garra rufa fish.

Originally from Turkey, this member of the carp family is also known as “doctor fish” due to their ability to relieve various skins conditions such as psoriasis. In effect these tiny, toothless fish gently nibble off dead skin revealing the soft, healthy dermis beneath to exfoliate the feet.
