No More a Chore
By Roshelle Fernandes

Well-stacked aisles as far as the eye can see, the cheerful buzz of happy families and tons of exciting products to peruse — what better way to spend the scorching summer months?

Traditionally perceived as a monthly chore, grocery shopping has never been an activity worth looking forward to; that is until the advent of massive supermarkets and hypermarkets on the island. Suddenly this dreaded task was transformed into a regular event with people rushing to get the best parking spots and the best deals.

Parents began to be accompanied by children and wives by their husbands. Now it has turned into a family outing, a day to spend some quality time with the brood. What makes it even better is the plethora of venues that have sprung up across the island, catering to every market segment and ensuring that you are never too far from a high-tech grocery store — no matter where you are.

Join BTM as we comb the supermarket scene, and get up-close-and-personal with some of Bahrain’s leading super stores.
