Lightspeed Communications : Outstanding Value
With a host of attractive offers and packages for businesses as well as residential customers, Lightspeed packs in more value into every offering it makes in the marketplace.

Bahrain’s first alternative fixed-line telecom service provider is charting out an exciting roadmap for the year ahead. New products in the residential segment with significantly higher download speeds will be launched during the year, while packages for small and medium businesses (SMBs) will be enhanced by mid-2012. The service provider has invested in upgrading its overall platform to improve the customer experience and expects to grow in all market segments it operates during this year. “We’re a resilient company that has grown its market-share over the past year. As the market becomes more price sensitive, customers are happy to engage with us, given the plethora of special benefits, loyalty programs and seasonal discounts on offer,” comments Philippe Baudin, CEO, Lightspeed Communications.

Small business advantage
With packages especially designed for SMBs, Lightspeed offers businesses a full suite of hassle-free solutions that require minimal expenditure. The new BD12, 1mbps Start Up package for micro-businesses is perhaps the most value for money proposition, offering more in terms of speed, voice services, downloads and savings. The recently launched free service,

My Office, gives a professional image to your business on the internet, with a personalized domain and 10 free email addresses. My Office is a web-based solution that can be accessed from any place at any time. It can also be synchronised with your mobile, allowing you connectivity while you are on the move. Other features offered by My Office are large file transfers, shared calendars and contacts. It is hosted and maintained by Orange and is widely used across the MENA region and Europe. On the voice front, the company will launch new packages for professionals, which include multiple lines and virtual PBX features hosted by the service provider. “Our packages are tailored keeping in mind the needs of SMBs.

They are transparent, cost-effective and user-friendly, designed to help the customers grow their business,” says Philippe. “Additionally, our internet services are provided through copper lines that offer a far more stable connection compared to the wireless medium. Copper wires remain immune to weather conditions ensuring reliability to our business customer who value quality of service highly,” he adds. The office packages offer unlimited internet services ranging from 1 Mbps to 16 Mbps at tariffs 50 per cent lower than other operators.

Comfort at home
The Home and Premium packages offered to residential consumers combines unlimited downloads, free landline services and free hours to mobile. Domestic customers can avail international calls at half the rates offered by leading service providers. The service provider is looking to launch VDSL2 access technology in private developments during the course of this year. The technology will significantly reduce download and upload time and enhance the experience of the residential user by allowing for speeds of 80 Mbps downstream on a wired connection which is much higher than what is currently offered by other operators.

Corporate solutions
As a subsidiary of France Telecom, Lightspeed is the complete communications partner with a comprehensive product portfolio, offering more choices along with exceptional quality in order to meet different corporate demands and requirements. Its extensive corporate portfolio includes local data connections (AVPN, MPLS and Microwave), dedicated internet connections over leased lines MPLS and microwave, voice services, webhosting and data hosting services, housing the client’s backup server on its premises in event of disaster recovery. Thanks to its affiliation with Orange Business Services, the company can connect you internationally through Global MPLS and IPLC connections, making use of Orange’s robust and redundant worldwide network.

“The last year was a challenging business year impacted by a difficult local and global financial environment. In spite of that, Lightspeed’s corporate business unit managed to overcome those circumstances and grew their market share through a dedicated team and the trust of their customers” says Philippe. “Our goal for 2012 is to capitalise on this growth and provide this dynamic segment with end-to-end and innovative solutions such as Cloud Computing and managed services,” he adds.
