Ahmed Alsayed shares his thoughts on some of the kingdom’s achievements through the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Bahrain is now set on a path towards further social and economic development, and prosperity, as the Kingdom celebrates its 51st National Day on December 16, 2022. This follows the historic success of the recent national elections with an unprecedented turnout for both the Council of Representatives and municipal elections, as well as, the appointment of the new Shura Council, accompanied by the formation of a dynamic and progressive government led by the visionary leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain. What boosts this positive outlook is the encouraging news that most economic sectors experienced positive growth, owing to the post-COVID-19 economic recovery. Bahrain›s real GDP increased by 6.9 percent year on year in the second quarter of 2022, as almost all non-oil sectors grew. Add to that, Bahrain recently announced the discovery of two new natural gas reservoirs, in addition to the drilling for the first production wells in Bahrain’s offshore shale oil discovery expected to start soon. This couldn’t have come at a better time as oil prices are stable and still priced in the Kingdom’s favour. Moreover, Bahrain boasts a workforce that is young, educated, hardworking, and dynamic, one that excels in various industries and sectors. From management to media, Fintech to fisheries, and tourism to trade, Bahrainis have always proven to be up to any challenge when given an opportunity to shine. The Economic Vision 2030, which is strongly advocated by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has already shown a positive impact HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, recently met with the Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs, HE Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, at Gudaibiya Palace. During the meeting, HRH was briefed by HE on the latest developments in the Kingdom’s afforestation plan. HE reviewed illustrative maps of this year’s accomplishments, following HRH’s directives of quadrupling mangrove coverage and doubling tree coverage across the Kingdom. The presentation outlined the Kingdom’s success in achieving 100 percent of its annual afforestation goal, by planting 110,000 seedlings of mangrove trees, and approximately 140,000 trees across several governorates.
