The summit took place in November at Wyndham Grand Manama as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, underscoring the Kingdom’s growing prominence as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. The panel was addressed by a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Chairman of Tenmou and founder of Suhail Algosaibi Entrepreneurship, Suhail Algosaibi, and Hasan Haider, Managing Partner of VC+ and a leading figure in venture capital investment for technology startups in the region. The session delved into several critical topics, including financing strategies for technology startups in light of the current economic transformations. The discussion also highlighted the growing importance of venture studios as transformative tools that offer exceptional resources and expertise to startups from their inception. The summit attracted approximately 300 participants, including entrepreneurs, investors and experts from Bahrain, the region, and around the globe. More than 20 technology startups showcased their projects to a group of investors, selected by a specialised jury following a thorough registration process and evaluation of the submitted proposals. The summit also offered participants a unique opportunity to explore the latest trends and innovations within the technology sector. The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) signed a partnership agreement with AstroLabs, a leading platform supporting business expansion in the Gulf region. This collaboration aims to launch a programme designed to encourage Bahraini business owners of various sizes to expand their commercial activities into the neighbouring Saudi market across different economic sectors. The announcement was made during Tamkeen’s participation in the Biban 24 forum, organised by the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha’at). The programme will focus on supporting Bahraini entrepreneurs who wish to grow their businesses and embark on their expansion journey in regional markets. It will provide specialised advisory support in business development, an introduction to the regulations and laws of the target market, as well as marketing strategies. Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with potential partners, customers, and suppliers. Tamkeen Chief Executive, HE Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, comments: “Through effective partnerships in the programme led by experts and specialists in the target market, participants will be able to minimise potential risks and enhance the chances of success for their business expansion and growth.” AstroLabs aims to facilitate the expansion and growth of global companies in the Gulf region.
