A CULINARY JOURNEY FEBRUARY 1 TO MARCH 31 MUHARRAQ SUPPER CLUB PEARLING PATH MUHARRAQ The Spring of Culture, quite literally, provides us with a golden opportunity to reconnect with and understand Bahrain’s rich culture. The question now is: If Bahraini cuisine had a voice, what would it say about its dishes? Participants will be taken on a culinary journey through four immersive culinary experiences at four different venues within the World Heritage Site: Qal’at Bu Mahir, the Murad House, the Pearling Path Visitors Centre, and the Archaeologies of Green Pavilion. Participants will discover the stories behind Bahraini food through dishes derived from the local environment, as well as the influence of neighbouring regions, trade, and cultural ties throughout history. Fees are applicable at each venue. Pre-registration is required. This activity is for those 18 years and older. Visit springofculture.org. ART FOR THE SOUL FEBRUARY 8 TO MARCH 30 47 LAYERS – HALA MOHAMMED AL KHALIFA HOUSE OF ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE This exhibition by Hala Mohammed Al Khalifa features 47 works which explore layers of the soul, experiences and places that we find ourselves in as we navigate through various paths in search of clarity and comfort. They may be raw, disturbing, unsettling – but amidst the chaos stability and balance can be achieved. Two main elements are explored: a local traditional fishing tool called “Al Salya”, as well as the artwork itself made of locally produced palm tree paper. The exhibition will be open from Saturday to Thursday from 8am to 1pm and from 4pm to 7pm. Visit springofculture.org. THE KING OF WALTZ FEBRUARY 16 ANDRÉ RIEU AL DANA AMPHITHEATRE
