Bahrainthismonth.com 14 February 2024 happenings THE BEST OF LITERATURE FEBRUARY 14 POETRY NIGHT & BOOK LAUNCH QAL’AT AL BAHRAIN SITE MUSEUM An evening of Arabic poetry featuring Bahraini poet Abdulhameed Al Qaed, a novelist and translator, known for various literary publications. His collection “Rathath Al Dahsha” comprises two sections, totalling 190 brief poetic moments. The evening also features Bahraini journalist and poet Saleh Yousif, presenting his collection “Tharouha” published by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, consisting of about 70 classical-style poems and verses. This event begins at 6pm and is suitable for those 16 years and older. Both books will be officially launched at the end of the evening. Entry is free. A FUTURISTIC MUSICAL FEBRUARY 13 SKYGGE’S MUSICAL AI MIRAGE IN BAHRAIN CULTURAL HALL If you’re looking for a truly unique experience which your whole family will enjoy, you won’t want to miss this. Led by Benoit Carré, the musical Skygge merges music with AI, notable for collaborations with Sony CSL and the “Hello World” project. The event also showcases Bahraini composer Hasan Hujairi, who is known for his sound art rooted in academic studies. The event starts at 8pm and is suitable for those 8 years and older. FEBRUARY 12 ‘A ONE-ARMED WOLF GNAWS THE NIGHT’ HOUSE OF POETRY - EBRAHIM AL ARRAYED Hani Nadim, a Syrian writer and journalist, has worked in journalism and media since the early nineties of the last century. He has published twenty books in journalism and literature and has contributed hundreds of articles to Arab newspapers. Among his most prominent works are “Ibn al-Nadim’s Index” and “The Incomplete Dictionary of the Press.” In poetry, his notable works include “The Sculptor of the Wind” and “The Wolf’s Concerto.” This event begins at 8pm and is suitable for those 16 years and older. ON THE RIGHT TRACK FEBRUARY 11-23 F1 BAHRAIN: AMERICAN TOURIST PAINTS ART CONCEPT GALLERY Discover the artistry of Erin McGee Ferrell, an American contemporary Maine oil painter known for seamlessly blending technology into traditional oils. As a University of New England Design teacher, she is a prominent figure in the C-word International Cancer and Art Exhibition. Ferrell’s 57 drawings and paintings capture the essence of the Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix, showcasing her innovative techniques and personal experience as an American tourist. This exhibition is open from Sunday to Thursday from 10am to 6pm, and is suitable for those 16 years and older. Kindly note that the Art Concept Gallery is located at Andalus Gallery in Gudaibiya.
