A FESTIVAL OF CONTEMPORARY ART FEBRUARY 22- MARCH 9 THE NEST AL RIWAQ ART SPACE Festival vibes are what come to mind when you think of Al Riwaq’s cherished ‘The Nest’ evenings. This fantastic event is a wonderful celebration of contemporary art and design which unties artists, designers, local companies and the community. Primarily located outdoors, The Nest transforms the neighbourhood into a vibrant gathering spot, showcasing public art and installations. Live events, including music concerts, film screenings, and children’s activities, will occur every weekend in and around Al Riwaq Art Space in Gufool. UNDERSTANDING PALESTINIAN WOMEN FEBRUARY 22 GHAZAL AKKA SHAIKH EBRAHIM CENTRE Palestinian actress and activist Raeda Taha presents her play “Ghazal Akka” at the Shaikh Ebrahim Centre, reflecting the deep-rooted Palestinian heritage. She’s a board member of the Ghassan Kanafani Cultural Foundation and previously served as press secretary to the late President Yasser Arafat. Taha’s theatrical contributions and writings shed light on Palestinian women’s experiences. This event begins at 8pm and is suitable for those 16years and older. Known for hits like “Sikka Taweela”, “Galo Tara” and “Ajhalak”, he’s been honoured with awards from Egypt and a doctorate from the Academy of Arts.
