The Bacalar spearheads a return to coachbuilding by Bentley Mulliner and features an enhanced version of Bentley’s peerless 6.0-litre, W12 TSI engine, the most advanced 12-cylinder engine in the world. Since the first introduction of the twin-turbocharger W12 in 2003, the refinement of the engine has seen an increase of up to 27 per cent in power, 38 per cent in torque and a reduction of 28 per cent in emissions. Each W12 engine is hand-built over 6.5 hours by a team of 45 craftspeople before undertaking a highly sophisticated test regime of over an hour via three specialist diagnostic machines during the engines assemble. THE QUINTESSENCE OF LUXURY AND SPEED With a low-slung front, special aerodynamic shape at the sides and an extended rear for peak performance, it is clear at first sight that the new Bugatti Chiron Super Sport has been designed without compromise for optimal aerodynamic performance. Bugatti engineers developed the new hyper sports car for top speed while fully embracing both luxury and comfort. Bugatti developed a new vehicle design with optimized aerodynamics for the Chiron Super Sport’s streamlined bodywork. The new Chiron Super Sport is an uncompromising reincarnation of the Bugatti design mantra, ‘form follows performance’. From the front splitter to the rear diffuser, every centimeter of its skin is designed for top speed. At speeds over 420 km/h, a vehicle must offer sufficient downforce alongside minimal drag. The uplift forces exerted on the bodywork at 440 km/h are immense. The body of the Chiron Super Sport generates massive downforce to counter this uplift and perfectly balance the forces. The Chiron Super Sport’s extended rear, which is known as a long tail, gives it new proportions and very distinctive aesthetics. AN OPPORTUNITY FOR CUSTOMISATION McLaren Automotive, the creator of luxury high performance supercars, recently completed delivery of a one-off example of the limited-volume, sold-out McLaren 765LT. The unique supercar features a wealth of exclusive personalisation options carried out by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the brand’s in-house bespoke division. The dramatic bodywork is finished in a ‘colour-shifting’ MSO Cerberus Pearl paintwork, which includes hues of blue, purple, gold and orange. The front splitter, rear bumper, side skirts, as well as the mirror casings and air intakes, have been finished in gloss carbon fibre that highlights the uncompromisingly light-weight engineering philosophy of the iconic British company. Enhancing the visual drama even further are a fully-functional MSO Defined roof scoop, 10-spoke Ultra-Lightweight wheels in gloss black finish and McLaren Orange brake calipers. Extensive personalisation continues inside the focused cabin of the McLaren 765LT, with satin carbon fibre finishes, as well as bespoke door inserts, speaker surrounds and seatbelts all in McLaren Orange and providing a subtle reference to the brand’s racing heritage.
