The 2022 Awards will be presented to select individuals, academic institutions, corporations, NGOs or governments whose application of digital technologies have resulted in exceptional achievements within seven categories in private and public ICT sectors. BTECH Chairman, Tareq Fakhroo, said: “We are participating at the WITSA IT Excellence Global Award with great confidence in the Bahraini ICT industry. We are positive that it will encourage international interest and create record achievements in this pioneering industry, further confirming the competitiveness of Bahraini products in the global market.” The event is expected to shed light on the extent of developments in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector in Bahrain and increase the sector’s contribution to the GDP. Founded in 1978, WITSA is a leading association of members of the ICT industry associations, comprising of more than 80 countries around the world, and members of this union represent more than 90 percent of the IT sector. Bahrain Car Parks Company (Amakin) B.S.C. and Epic Lion, a brand and digital design agency, have been awarded the Gold Award for the ‘Best Rebrand of a Digital Property’ for 2022 by the Transform Awards MEA - the only awards programme awarding the best brand work in the region. The ‘Best Rebrand of a Digital Property’ award acknowledges the best rebrand across an organisation’s digital and online assets, including its websites and digital applications. In 2021, Bahrain Car Parks unveiled its new brand Amakin, expanding on the company’s 40-year pioneering tradition. The award celebrates Amakin’s rebrand meticulously executed by Epic Lion, which was recently launched in the Middle East by the creative duo, Ramzi Moutran and Scott Clephane. The agency has offices in London, Dubai, Johannesburg and Cape Town. The agency has been selected to develop high-level projects from leading companies in the Kingdom including Amakin and Tamkeen.
