KHADIJA’S PERSPECTIVE MARCH 13 TO 16 - 8:00 PM ‘KHADIJA’ BOOK LAUNCH BY KHALID AL ROWAIE BAHRAIN NATIONAL THEATRE REVIVING TRADITIONAL MUSIC MARCH 12 DAR BIN HARBAN BAND DAR AL MUHARRAQ POETRY FOR THE SOUL MARCH 14 POETRY RECITAL BY AHMED AL-MULLA HOUSE OF POETRY Dar Bin Harban Band, founded by Mohammed bin Jassim bin Harban in the old city of Muharraq in the mid-1940s, has been significant in revitalising a variety of local traditional arts, including Al-Ardhah, Al La’abouni, Al-Khammari, and Al-Fjiri. Dar Bin Harban Band has recorded concerts that have been broadcast across the Arab Gulf states in addition to their live performances in local national and social events in Bahrain and overseas. As the founder and manager of the Saudi Film Festival, he is considered a pioneer in the Saudi film industry. In Saudi Arabia, he also leads the National Film Archive Center initiative. Al-Mulla held several prestigious positions over his career, including Adviser to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts. The comprehensive piece of literature, Khadija, explores Khadija bint Khuwaylid’s perceptions of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) from his birth to prophecy, and finally to her death, explaining how she awaited him and her feelings about him. This essay weaves together historical events with contemporary poetic, artistic, and human perspectives to examine how she perceived the Prophet (PBUH), as well as how she navigated and embraced him. A new adaptation of the art of historical miniatures, as well as modern artistic forms of lines and formations that go together with the poetic text, are featured in the book and exhibition.
