Welcome to another very exciting edition of Bahrain This Month. The weather is finally cooling down and events are in full swing all across the Kingdom. These are exciting times! As someone who has lived in Bahrain for over 40 years, and is a proud Bahraini, I can safely say that living in Bahrain has always been a pleasure. While there’s plenty that makes the island such a wonderful place to live, there’s no denying that the main factor that makes it so special is its people; their warmth, kindness and generosity is second to none. On that note, in this edition, you can read our interview with a man who is a true representative of these qualities – the Secretary General of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed. His natural knack for philanthropy, and efforts through the RHF have created a lasting impact on societies in Bahrain and around the world. We have always been quite connected to every community in Bahrain. This month, we had the pleasure of speaking to the Ambassador of Indonesia, HE Ardi Hermawan, who enlightened us about the Indonesian community in Bahrain, trade figures between the two countries and more. Mental health has been at the forefront of global conversations this year, and it’s for a good reason. We speak to Yasmin Drummond, wife of the British Ambassador HE Roddy Drummond, about the pressing topic and her proposed mental health charity, MIND Bahrain. Other interviewees include one of the Kingdom’s finest lawyers, Rashed Abdul Rahman Ebrahim, and the talented saxophonist, Elton Shera.
