Formula 1 and the FIA have announced that Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) will once again host the F1 PreSeason Testing in February 2025, marking the fifth consecutive year the Kingdom has been chosen. F1 pre-season testing was first held in Bahrain in 2009 and later in 2014, becoming an annual fixture since 2021. All 10 F1 teams will gather in Sakhir from February 26 to 28 to prepare for the 2025 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. This event offers fans the first glimpse of the new race cars in action before the season opener in Australia. Bahrain will later host the fourth race of the season, the Bahrain Grand Prix, from April 11 to 13. BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa expressed pride in being selected again. “We are truly honoured to once again be selected as the host venue for pre-season testing. We extend our thanks to Formula 1, the FIA and all the teams for choosing BIC as they prepare for the new season. We look forward to welcoming teams and fans to Sakhir in February and witnessing the new cars in action for the first time,” he says. Ticketing details for pre-season testing will be released soon, and tickets for the Bahrain Grand Prix are already on sale, with Early Bird discounts available. Travel packages are also being offered through Gulf Air Holidays and the Bahrain Tourism Authority. The car, used by villain Auric Goldfinger, was the last model developed by Henry Royce before his death in 1933. With its V12 engine and solid gold coachwork, the Phantom III was both a powerful and luxurious choice for smuggling gold in the film. This Phantom, recognised for its role in Goldfinger, has become synonymous with the Bond franchise, reinforcing RollsRoyce’s legacy of elegance and innovation. The car’s unique design elements, like the ‘AU 1’ number plate, further cement its place in film history. A special announcement from Rolls-Royce is expected this month to celebrate this enduring legacy. motoring news Bahrainthismonth.com 56 October 2024
