Fereshte Shishine, an accomplished artist, presents an exhibition titled ‘Life Journey’. She has studied with various masters and has a degree in art from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tehran. As a youngster, she enjoyed detailed work and, in particular, the poetry and intricacy of Persian miniatures, having worked under the great masters such as Behzad and Sussan-Abadi. She later moved to Europe and developed her skills in still life, portrait, landscape and etching. She has lived and worked in Spain, England, France and Switzerland and has participated in many collective and individual exhibitions.
Her paintings are easily recognised by her deep appreciation for colour composition, sharp focus on light and her unique attention to particular details. A common characteristic of most of her works is the accidental presence of draperies and delicately knitted fabrics somewhere on the canvas. She has donated some of her pieces for reproduction to charitable organisations such as UNICEF and the Marie Curie Institute.
The exhibit opens at 6pm, followed by dinner and a live jazz performance at 8pm, priced at BD30+.
