PIAF, a biographical stage play about the life of the legendary French singer, Edith Piaf, will open at the British Club stage from June 27th and run for three performances.
Dubbed “The Little Sparrow”, a woman of tiny frame yet tremendous voice, PIAF at once exemplified certain joie de vivre and a breakdown of spirit. Stripped bare to get to the soul of this elusive famed performer, this grand yet intimate play bears witness to her addictions, affairs, and personal anguish. From her humble beginnings as a street singer in Paris, the play is an uninterrupted 90-minute experience that includes her most well-known songs, including "L'Accordéoniste", “Milord” and “Non, je ne Regrette Rien”.
PIAF is produced by Manama Theatre Club (MTC) in collaboration with At The Moment Productions. Founded in 1979, MTC is a community of drama enthusiasts, hailing from different parts of the world, who have a passion for the dramatic arts. At The Moment Productions is a live art-making and theatre production company aiming to engage a new generation of Gulf-based audience with live theatre. Our projects deliver high production values that this demographic now expects, as well as works that would also be perfectly suitable for markets outside of the region.
