The Brewed & Blended Show - Kamran Satti

The Brewed & Blended Show celebrates Bahrain’s vibrant beverage scene by spotlighting the island’s most passionate baristas and mixologists – one creative, flavour-packed episode at a time.

Episode 5 features Kamran Satti, who brings personality, flair and plenty of flavour to every pour at Champs Sports Bar, Barceló Hotel & Residences, Bahrain in Seef. We caught up with him for a rapid-fire round on cocktails, favourite ingredients and why Champs is the place to be this season.

Describe your bartending style in three words.
Dynamic, entertaining, and social.

What makes Champs the ultimate hangout spot?
We’re up on the 17th floor with amazing views over the city. There’s poolside seating if you want to chill outdoors, and of course a massive screen to catch live sports.

Which cocktail would you say best represents Bahrain?
I’d create something with local flair: a date-infused base, saffron bitters, a mix of spices, fresh lime to beat the heat, a few mint leaves, and topped with soda for that refreshing fizz. It’s Bahrain in a glass.

What’s your personal favourite drink to make?
I like the classics. Give me an Old Fashioned, a Boulevardier, or a Sazerac any day.

What’s the go-to drink at Champs?
Cosmopolitans! They’re a crowd favourite.

What’s your favourite ingredient to work with?
Definitely bitters and spices. They can completely transform a cocktail.

If someone’s visiting Champs for the first time, what would you recommend they order?
I’d say the Old Cuban. It’s a mix of mango, spices and a splash of lime – vibrant, refreshing and the perfect welcome drink.

Amaretto Sour or Margarita?
Amaretto Sour, every time.

Best bar snack on the Champs menu?
The mini burgers. Hands down. They’re absolutely delicious.

If you could only use one spirit for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Tequila. Versatile and fun, you can’t go wrong with it.

Quick tip: what’s the best way to jazz up a basic drink?
Add spices and bitters. Simple, but it makes a world of difference.

Last question — brewed or blended?
Brewed forever. No contest.
