Powering Progress

Amad Group is preparing to open a new switchgear manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia by the end of 2026, marking the next phase of its industrial expansion under the leadership of founder and Managing Director Pambavasan Nair.

Scheduled to open by the end of 2026, the facility is being developed in the Saudi MODON Industrial Area with an investment of approximately SAR50 million.

Incorporating advanced automation and modern production technology, it will expand the Group’s manufacturing capacity while supporting growing demand for electrical infrastructure across Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC.

Mr. Nair established the business in Saudi Arabia in 1998 before expanding into Bahrain with the launch of Amad Baeed Electrical W.L.L. in 2001.
Over the past two decades, the Kingdom has become a key base for the Group’s manufacturing and regional operations, supporting its growth into an industrial enterprise spanning electrical trading, contracting and switchgear manufacturing.

Manufacturing has become a defining part of the Group’s expansion strategy. Alongside its Saudi operations, the Group’s Bahrain manufacturing facility produces electrical distribution systems for major industrial and infrastructure projects across the GCC. The new Saudi factory will become the Group’s third switchgear manufacturing facility, increasing production capacity across both markets.

Bahrain has remained central to the Group’s industrial growth. Under Mr. Nair’s leadership, the company invested BD1 million in 2007 to establish the Group’s Bahrain manufacturing facility and a further BD1.8 million in 2021 to automate and expand it, strengthening production capacity at a time when many businesses were scaling back. Today, the fully automated facility continues to support projects across the GCC.

Over the years, the Group has secured approvals from leading industrial organisations including Saudi Aramco, Saudi Electricity Company, SABIC, Alba and Bapco, reflecting its ability to meet the technical and quality standards required for major industrial projects across the region.

Once operational, the new Saudi facility will strengthen Amad Group’s regional manufacturing network while reinforcing its position as a regional manufacturer of electrical infrastructure solutions.
