Empowering Minds, Transforming Opportunities

The British University of Bahrain is redefining higher education in the Kingdom, offering UK-validated degrees, industry-aligned programmes and a learning environment built to shape confident future-ready graduates.

Since opening its doors in 2018, the British University of Bahrain (BUB) has emerged as one of the Kingdom’s most progressive institutions. Its defining partnership with the University of Salford, Manchester, enables students to access internationally recognised programmes while studying in Bahrain. This collaboration forms the backbone of an academic experience shaped by global standards, industry relevance and a learning culture designed to prepare graduates for an increasingly competitive world.

From the outset, BUB has anchored its mission in excellence and relevance. Its community brings together students from Bahrain, the GCC and beyond, creating a setting where technical knowledge, reflective thinking and practical confidence grow side by side.

Three Colleges, One Direction

BUB’s programmes span three colleges, each contributing to a shared vision for future leaders.

The College of Business and Law delivers practical and career-focused degrees in accounting, finance, management, marketing and international law. Workshops, case studies and shadowing sessions with practising lawyers, judges and business leaders deepen the academic journey.

The College of Engineering and Technology offers forward-looking programmes in civil engineering, quantity surveying, construction project management, software engineering, computer science, cyber security, architecture and interior design. A strong research culture supported by industry partnerships ensures graduates are equipped to contribute to digital transformation and infrastructure development across the region.

The College of Arts and Social Science attracts creative and socially aware students, offering psychology and a foundation certificate that provides pathways into all undergraduate programmes. Fieldwork, guest speakers and community projects enrich student experience and professional readiness.

Opportunities that Shape Futures

BUB supports student achievement through academic excellence awards of up to 25 percent, direct entry options for eligible A-Level and IB graduates and an English Language Test recognised as equivalent to IELTS. Its teaching approach encourages independence, critical reasoning and strong employability skills.

In Summer 2025, more than 180 students completed internships across leading private and government organisations.

These placements offered hands-on experience in engineering, software development, psychology, law, media, business and public administration. The exposure strengthened confidence and capability and supported national goals for skills development.

Looking Ahead

For the 2026 to 2027 academic year, BUB is in the process of submitting a suite of new BSc, MSc, HND and diploma programmes for approval by the Higher Education Council, expanding flexible pathways for learners at different stages of their educational journey.

The College of Engineering and Technology continues to advance its professional progress. It is already recognised as a CIOB Accredited Centre and is preparing for a RIBA exploratory board visit in early 2026. These accreditations enhance graduate credibility in Bahrain and abroad.

Today, the British University of Bahrain stands as a symbol of educational quality, innovation and aspiration. It offers students not only a degree but the grounding to contribute to a skilled and future-ready Bahrain.
