Celebrate Saudi Arabia National Day

As the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia gears up to celebrate its National Day on September 23, the nation opens its arms to people from around the globe, inviting them to be part of a celebration that is both grand and culturally enriching.

The streets of Saudi Arabia will be awash with the green and white of their flag, a testament to the country’s rich history, vibrant culture and the strong bond it shares with its neighbours, namely our very own Bahrain.

Bahrain and Saudi Arabia share a relationship dating back over two centuries. This bond is celebrated and strengthened during Saudi National Day, as Bahrainis and Saudis alike come together to honour their shared heritage and aspirations. From economic partnerships to cultural exchanges, the ties between these two nations are a testament to their enduring friendship.

This year, Saudi National Day promises a lineup of events that are as diverse as they are exciting. The AlUla Music Festival 2025 promises a musical journey amidst ancient landscapes, while traditional folk dances, such as the Ardah sword dance, offer a glimpse into the nation’s vibrant cultural tapestry. Bahrainis visiting Saudi Arabia will find joy in these celebrations, reflecting on the shared cultural elements that bind the two nations.

Art enthusiasts can explore Saudi Arabia’s rich arts scene. Art and music shows will be held at prominent locations such as the Jeddah Art Promenade and Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina. The Mosaic Wall exhibition at the Corniche de Jeddah will highlight artworks depicting the Kingdom’s history, while an immersive light-and-sound display will captivate audiences.  Meanwhile, the Saudi Hawks Air Show promises to leave spectators in awe, showcasing the skill and precision of Saudi pilots against the backdrop of the nation’s azure skies.

For Bahrainis visiting Saudi Arabia, the Coastal Corniche, lined with shops offering unique Saudi-themed products, provides the perfect chance to take home souvenirs that symbolise the friendship between the two nations.

Poetry, cherished in both Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, takes centre stage during the celebrations. Poetry recitations will be hosted in several locations organised by the General Authority for Culture. In Riyadh, as part of the Adwaa wa Atyaf festival, various venues will feature dedicated poetry evening stages. A cultural-heritage pavilion will present evening poetry recitals as part of its art exhibition programme. Additionally, a touring series of poetry evenings and competitions will occur in Al-Kharj, Al-Majma’ah, Al-Aflaj and Thadig, including special sessions for women and children.

As night falls, spectacular fireworks displays will light up the sky in several key locations across Riyadh, including Umm Ajlan Park, Boulevard Riyadh City and King Abdullah Financial District, providing a fitting conclusion to a day of unity and celebration.
