Mayo Partnership Empowers AMH

King Hamad American Mission Hospital (KHAMH) has joined the prestigious Mayo Clinic Care Network (MCCN), which grants the hospital’s healthcare professionals access to world-class expertise, innovative resources and advanced patient-centred care solutions.

“As a member of the MCCN, the King Hamad American Mission Hospital now has special access to Mayo Clinic’s knowledge and expertise,” says Dr. George Cheriyan, the Corporate CEO of the American Mission Hospital, Bahrain, after signing the special agreement with Dr. Brian Costello, Medical Director of the Mayo Clinic Global Consulting.

Mayo Clinic, ranked as the world’s No. 1 hospital in Newsweek’s annual list of the ‘World’s Best Hospitals’ for the seventh consecutive year, officially added King Hamad American Mission Hospital, A’Ali, to its network in December 2024.

Created in 2011, the Mayo Clinic Care Network now includes 45 member organisations across the United States, the Middle East, Asia, India and Mexico. KHAMH is the first in Bahrain and the 14th international healthcare facility to join this exclusive network.

This can then be conveyed to patients, and KHAMH can coordinate care with Mayo Clinic if the need arises.

“Physicians across all our sites have access to Mayo Clinic’s knowledge resources made available through our electronic health record at the bedside, which empowers and equips physicians to provide high-quality care across all our sites.

“Certain focus areas of patient care have been identified to significantly bolster the level of care delivery for the benefit of people in Bahrain, and our physicians work closely with Mayo Clinic’s experts to design and deliver the care model. This work is ongoing in the field of paediatric diabetes and obesity, neurorehabilitation and high-risk pregnancies, to name a few.”
