Library On Wheel Unveiled

The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) recently inaugurated the Al Khalifiyah Travelling library.

The unique library will travel from its location in the heart of the old city of Muharraq to all corners of the Kingdom with the aim of spreading the culture of reading to a wider segment of society.

The history of the establishment of the Al Khalifiyah Library dates back to 1954. In 2017, BACA reopened it to the people of Muharraq and visitors after restoring the original building of the library, following which BACA organised cultural programmes and specialised workshops. The library also offers bibliophiles, students and hose in search of a quite space to read, much needed respite.
