The landmark signing ceremony was held in a grand and festive atmosphere on 28 August 2026 at Al Najma Club, Juffair, in the presence of leaders from both organizations, community representatives, sports enthusiasts, and hockey lovers.

Under this important partnership, both organizations will work together to promote and expand the reach of hockey across Bahrain through joint initiatives, sporting events, community activities, and social programs. Special emphasis will also be placed on developing the sporting skills of local athletes and strengthening cooperation and relations between the two organizations.

The ceremony was attended by senior representatives of both organizations. Representing the Greater Barishal Welfare Association, Bahrain was its General Secretary, Sarwor Hossain, while the Bahrain Hockey Association was represented by its General Secretary, Malik Abid Awan.

The leaders of both organizations expressed their great satisfaction and enthusiasm over the new partnership. With the slogan “Together We Collaborate, Together We Promote Hockey,” both organizations pledged to work collectively to broaden the scope of hockey in Bahrain and identify and nurture new and promising talents.

As an immediate initiative under this partnership, both organizations have already begun working toward forming two separate hockey teams for boys and girls at Bangladesh School Bahrain.

This timely and commendable initiative is expected to encourage greater participation in sports among school students while creating new opportunities to develop talented young hockey players who may go on to compete at national and international levels in the future.

The partnership marks a new chapter in the joint efforts to promote hockey, empower young athletes, and strengthen community engagement through sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
