As of September 22, a total of 6000 people, of different nationalities, have volunteered for the phase III COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials in Bahrain.

The Ministry of Health announced that the target was reached six weeks after the trials got underway in the Kingdom.

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, highlighted that the continued determination and unity of the Kingdom’s citizens and residents in supporting national efforts to combat coronavirus (COVID-19) remains central to overcoming the continuing challenges presented by COVID-19. HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa had notably volunteered for the clinical trials, which inspired officials and citizens to participate.

Bahrain’s medical teams in charge of conducting the phase III COVID-19 inactivated vaccine clinical trials have since expressed their desire to conduct an additional 1700 trials.
