The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) and the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT) renewed service delivery of identity cards to citizens and residents processed after conducting the service through the National portal Bahrain.bh. The three-year agreement, aims to improve government ID card services customer experience by simplifying and speeding up procedures.

The renewal of the agreement with Bahrain Post is in line with the iGA’s efforts to enhance cooperation and partnerships with both the public and private sectors, to improve the quality of government services offered to citizens and residents and raise customer satisfaction. The iGA has been focused on automating most of its operations and services, and providing them electronically, with customers now able to conduct ID card transactions online through the National Portal and have them delivered to their homes, eliminating the need for service center visits.

Through their electronic processing and automated service via the National Portal, bahrain.bh, citizens and residents are expected to save considerable time, effort and money. The system is able to process multiple requests simultaneously, and shall notify citizens to contact the post office should they be unable to receive their ID card.
