Hot on the heels of news that the number of Russian tourists visiting Bahrain has increased to more than 10,000, with a total spend of BD7 million, Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) CEO, HE Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa, held a meeting with Russian Ambassador, HE Igor Kremnev.
The pair spoke about the achievements of BTEA’s representative office in Russia and the partnerships established with travel agencies to attract visitors through tourism packages and weekly charter flights. They announced that the number Russians visiting Bahrain has experienced a 101 per cent increase on the same period last year.
This get together was part of a series of bilateral meetings held between BTEA and ambassadors to the Kingdom, in order to promote its tourism identity under the slogan of ‘Ours.Yours.’ and develop the sector in line with the Economic Vision 2030.
