Lanterns – the name synonymous with excellent Indian cuisine – has been a firm favourite on Bahrain’s dining scene for over a decade. The award-winning establishment has several branches across the Kingdom, thanks to its lip-smacking gourmet creations and upscale, yet relaxed atmosphere.
The newest offshoot at Amwaj islands, Lanterns Gourmet Lounge, houses a dining room, bar area, conservatory and a lush green open-air garden. This new outlet not only presents the brand’s signature dishes, but also an extensive assortment of international fare – Italian crowd pleasers, battered fish and chips, and a succulent Wagyu burger are some inclusions on the menu.
Early birds are welcome for breakfast at the Amwaj outlet from 7.30am to noon, and the gastronomic gala continues for lunch, evening drinks and dinner up to 2am at all locations around Bahrain.
The Friday Buffet Brunch lays out tantalising meat, seafood and vegetarian preparations for BD23, inclusive of unlimited selected beverages, while the standard weekend buffet is priced at just BD9.900+.
There’s something special and nostalgic about every Sunday, as the restaurant dishes up classic ‘Sunday Roast’ all day. Savour traditional chicken or beef tenderloin served with roast potatoes, red cabbage, vegetables, cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire pudding with sage and onion stuffing.
For guests to make the most of Bahrain’s balmy days, the Lanterns Gastropub is set to open shortly on the second floor of Lanterns Lounge and Restaurant in Adliya. The open-air terrace and indoor pub with industrial-style interiors captures characteristic modern Indian elements. The menu is a curation of tapas-style food with international appeal.
The indoor dining room and al fresco garden seating downstairs offer splendid Indian cuisine and give off a distinctly Goan vibe, where modern day maharajas can enjoy live entertainment and Bollywood tunes on request. The weekend buffet here costs BD10.500++.
