A Michelin-Starred Japanese Approach

For the first time in the Kingdom, The Gulf Hotel Bahrain Convention and Spa is hosting Japanese chef, Takagi Kazuo, who holds two of the coveted Michelin stars.

Meet chef Takagi Kazuo and experience his one of a kind Japanese culinary authenticity at the award-winning Sato Japanese restaurant from September 20 to 24.

Chef Takagi has been in the culinary world since he graduated from university. And, though he started later than most Japanese chefs, he prevailed with talent, dedication and great passion. His restaurant, Takagi, in Japan, has held two Michelin stars since 2010, and his hot pot restaurant, Kozithu, was awarded one Michelin star in 2013. Chef Takagi dedicates himself to serving authentic Japanese delicacies and continuously hones his craft.

The creations of chef Takagi reflect the seasons and unfold cultural tales. His soup is the most symbolic of his cooking, which is composed, delicate and illustrative. Diners will be treated to a refined blend of culinary traditions with chef Takagi's exquisite dishes including grilled cod soup with yuzu pop rice, sushi bonbon, shrimp and corn karage and Wagyu beef teriyaki.  His exceptional culinary creations are available as an à la carte selection or a seven-course degustation menu and will reflect the best seasonal produce presented in his renowned artistic style.

“We are delighted to have chef Takagi Kazuo at our renowned Sato Japanese restaurant,” says Rahim Abu Omar, general manager of The Gulf Hotel Bahrain. “In line with our passion for serving our guests a true culinary journey, chef Takagi Kazuo will definitely present an unforgettable dining experience.”

There will also be an exclusive master class on September 23, at BD39 with lunch.
