Turning Over A New Leaf

This five-star establishment’s Japanase outlet is witnessing a service revamp under a new management team.

Ruka at Ramee Grand Hotel and Spa has gained a reputation as one of the most popular Japanese restaurants in Bahrain, offering authentic fare and a teppanyaki grill with a scintillating, fun-filled ambience.

The venue is upping its service and standards under the guidance of the hotel’s new general manager Rocco Santopietro and the sales and marketing director Kumar Ashwani.

Being a veteran of Bahrain’s hospitality sector, Kumar has strong networking skills and has redefined the communication strategy of the outlet, developing the Ruka membership system to cultivate a bigger customer base.

The rewards card entitles customers to a 20 per cent discount on all food and beverages, which can be had throughout the year, along with a number of discount vouchers for the hotel and a complimentary overnight stay in a luxury accommodation. Membership costs a one-time fee of BD75.

Rocco brings over three decades of hospitality experience to the post, and is aiming to expand the hotel’s position within the local, regional and international markets. “I am thrilled to join the Ramee family as it continues on its journey to growth and brand awareness. I look forward to working with some of the best talent in the industry,” he says.

The new director of food and beverage, Siegfried Masson, also boasts a wealth of experience. He has travelled all over the globe and worked on cruise ships and in luxury resorts in tourist hotspots such as Bora Bora, the Maldives, London and Madrid. With extensive knowledge in business trends and Bahrain’s hospitality industry, he intends to market Ruka as a versatile destination for a romantic dinner or a glamorous evening out with friends.

Ensuring the venue’s reputation continues to grow, chef Raman expertly creates delectable sushi rolls and whips up perfectly cooked teppanyaki dishes to please any palate.

Recently joined resident disc jockey Fab Witte spins the decks to enthrall guests with sinewy, sensuous lounge beats. Fab’s music is deep, groovy and influenced by his European background and his exposure to Middle Eastern culture.

The overall service oozes warmth and friendliness, thanks to the new manager Su Kyi Win. Her knowledge of the cuisine and passion for service makes her an ideal host. She will take you through the menu and make suggestions according to your preferences.

Located in the chic district of Seef, Ramee Grand is an ideal choice for leisure and business travellers. It is in close proximity to all major shopping centres, tourist attractions and only 15 minutes away from Bahrain International Airport. Amenities such as a spa, pool and various dining and entertainment outlets are all located within the property.
