Apps Review | Wattpad, Snapseed & Swiftkey

BTM brings you the low-down on the latest and greatest apps on the market.

App: Wattpad
Rating: 4//5

What is it?

Wattpad is a growing community that allows you to connect directly with writers and other readers and discuss the latest plot twists by leaving comments alongside stories. React in real time as new chapters are added, share your favourite lines or create beautiful visual quotes.

The Good

If you’ve always wanted to be an author, publish your book on Wattpad and share it with its supportive community. Create a new draft, add chapters to an existing story or add a cover, all from the app. You can even get creative with one of many monthly writing challenges.

The Bad

There is no filter for content, so if you are a young reader who doesn’t want profanity or other mature themes in their stories, it’s hard to avoid it sometimes. Also, there’s no option to collaborate with other writers so both can edit at the same time.

App: Swiftkey

Swiftkey is one of the best third-party keyboard apps available. The keyboard learns how you type and adapts to your unique tapping style over time, meaning you’ll be able to type faster with fewer typos.

App: Snapseed

The best camera is the one you have on you, but the pictures it takes might not always come out as well as you like. With Snapseed, you can do basic image editing right from your phone, to make it look as good as possible. You can tweak your white balance, adjust the exposure, boost the highlights, scale back the shadows, and more.
