On Mother’s Day we celebrate the most important woman in our life; the reason we are here today; healthy, educated, and with a home. The least we could do to thank her is a gift! Here are a few ideas for Mother’s Day on March 21 for Bahraini families, March 22 for our English sisters, and June 7 for our French buddies. We assure you; these gifts are way more interesting than the basic tulips or chocolate boxes. Here we go!
Oh God! It’s cold again! —
“Ugh! I just warmed it up!” Does her coffee get cold by the time she takes her third sip? The Temperature Control Smart Mug, available on amazon, will keep her drink perfectly warm at all times.
It’s the little things that matter —
What about a cute assortment of succulents instead of roses? Make sure all the pots are decorated, and arrange them carefully on her night table or next to her hundred pairs of shoes!
A gift from the heart —
Is there a place you and your mother would visit way back, maybe a park or even an old summer camp? Make a list of all those locations, take her there and overwhelm her with memories. Just don’t tell her from the start where you’re taking her.
A teenager again —
Was there a movie that your mum used to watch over and over again when she was younger? Look for it on Netflix and prepare some popcorn. Movies like Back to the Future, or even Dirty Dancing will have her fangirling.
Down Memory Lane —
Why not bring back a memory from when you were a baby? Look out the shoes you used to wear all the time or a teddy bear you would perform with in front of your mother. (Don’t forget the tissues!)
A modern book —
If the leader of the house is quite a reader, this is something she will cherish. Make mom an e-reader with an Amazon Kindle book. She can take all her books with her everywhere on a single device!
Fashion her up —
Spoil her with clothes that will make her feel 10 years younger. Buy an ‘80s vintage grunge jacket for example, or jeans from an old, popular brand.
Win the game —
A little mother-child(ren) day will make your mum so happy. Take her to a carnival, or an arcade to train her skills! Win the pink bear for her and always let her win, it’s her party!
Let the chef rest —
Surprise her with cooking up her favourite meal. Better yet, breakfast in bed!
Bring out her inner queen —
For her hair to look presentable, gift her hand-made accessories! Grab flowers from your garden, or buy some from the local flower shop, scissors, a hot glue gun, a big midrib and start crafting. It will make her smile, knowing that you made it yourself.
