His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa

The Kingdom of Bahrain celebrates its 51st National Day this year and has bright future in store for Team Bahrain. Ahmed Alsayed shares his thoughts on some of the kingdom’s achievements through the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Bahrain is now set on a path towards further social and economic development, and prosperity, as the Kingdom celebrates its 51st National Day on December 16, 2022. This follows the historic success of the recent national elections with an unprecedented turnout for both the Council of Representatives and municipal elections, as well as, the appointment of the new Shura Council, accompanied by the formation of a dynamic and progressive government led by the visionary leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

What boosts this positive outlook is the encouraging news that most economic sectors experienced positive growth, owing to the post-COVID-19 economic recovery. Bahrain›s real GDP increased by 6.9 percent year on year in the second quarter of 2022, as almost all non-oil sectors grew. Add to that, Bahrain recently announced the discovery of two new natural gas reservoirs, in addition to the drilling for the first production wells in Bahrain’s offshore shale oil discovery expected to start soon. This couldn’t have come at a better time as oil prices are stable and still priced in the Kingdom’s favour.

51th Bahrain National Day CelebrationsHRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, recently met with the Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs, HE Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, at Gudaibiya Palace. During the meeting, HRH was briefed by HE on the latest developments in the Kingdom’s afforestation plan. HE reviewed illustrative maps of this year’s accomplishments, following HRH’s directives of quadrupling mangrove coverage and doubling tree coverage across the Kingdom. The presentation outlined the Kingdom’s success in achieving 100 percent of its annual afforestation goal, by planting 110,000 seedlings of mangrove trees, and approximately 140,000 trees across several governorates.

Moreover, Bahrain boasts a workforce that is young, educated, hardworking, and dynamic, one that excels in various industries and sectors. From management to media, Fintech to  fisheries, and tourism to trade, Bahrainis have always proven to be up to any challenge when given an opportunity to shine.

The Economic Vision 2030, which is strongly advocated by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has already shown a positive impact with the continued growth of the economy, creating jobs, and attracting inward investment from reputable global brands such as Kraft, and Amazon Web Services, to name a few, who have set up foot in Bahrain. Such successes further enhance Bahrain’s image globally as it retains its title as the regional financial and business hub.

These achievements did not occur by chance, but rather is a cultivation of years of hard work and dedication of the strong Team Bahrain led by HRH Prince Salman who is diligent in promoting Bahrain as a destination for business and investment, and creating the economic infrastructure and climate that supports that vision. HRH Prince Salman has been incubating new businesses and Bahraini talent to help build the kingdom on its journey to sustainable development and prosperity.

The sixth edition of the Bahrain International Airshow was launched by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister at the Sakhir airbase. The event took place over three days and saw the attendance of 186 companies, more than 200 civilian and military delegations, and 100 different aircraft on static and flying display.

Benjamin Franklin once said: “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest”. HRH Prince Salman championed education in Bahrain from a young age, and personally supported Bahraini students to reach the highest echelons of academia. Nowhere is this more evident than in HRH the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Programme (CPISP), established in 1999. The programme promotes outstanding educated young Bahrainis and provides them with a generous support mechanism to achieve their aspirations. HRH Prince Salman recognises that Bahrain’s most valuable asset is its people, and has spared no expense to maximise their potential. Over two decades on, The CPISP has provided (and continues to provide) Bahrain with world-class managers, lawyers, engineers, entrepreneurs, bankers, and more. In fact, many of its graduates today are in positions of national responsibility such as a minister, government officials, and industry leaders, proving that His Royal Highness knew all along that his faith and confidence in his people and vision for highly educated Bahrainis will undoubtedly come to fruition.

HRH the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Economic Development Board (EDB), received the Sultan of the Sultanate of Oman, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said, at the EDB headquarters.

The Middle East’s most spectacular jewellery and watch show, Jewellery Arabia 2022, took place at the new state-of-the-art Exhibition World Bahrain. The event was held in tandem with Cityscape and Scent Arabia, and was inaugurated by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

That is precisely why Team Bahrain led by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, will lead Bahrain to a bright and prosperous future.

Happy National Day Bahrain!
