Group CEO of HMD Consolidate, Mazin Zaidan, shares insights into the group’s strategic growth, specialised entities and leadership in Bahrain’s construction, HVAC, marine industries, and trading business.

As Group CEO of HMD Consolidate, Mr. Zaidan has built an impressive career spanning multiple sectors. “My career started in construction, where I gained hands-on experience in project management, MEP works, and HVAC solutions,” he explains. “These experiences shaped my ability to understand sector-specific challenges and opportunities, setting the foundation for leadership roles in various industries.”

Under Mr. Zaidan’s leadership and the vision of Chairman Sheikh Hamad Bin Isa Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, HMD Consolidate has become a key player in Bahrain’s economy. “Our growth in Bahrain has been propelled by our commitment to excellence, innovation and an unwavering responsiveness to the market’s evolving needs,” he says.

The creation of specialised entities under HMD Consolidate, such as Contratech, Leap, Marinetech and Contratech International Trading (CIT), was driven by the need to offer tailored solutions. “Each entity was established to meet specific market demands, from MEP solutions at Contratech to marine services at Marinetech,”’ explains Mr. Zaidan. “This approach has allowed us to expand our influence and deliver world-class services.”

Success for HMD Consolidate is measured through a blend of financial performance, client satisfaction and operational efficiency. “At the group level, we track growth by the scale of projects and our reputation in the industry,” Mr. Zaidan elaborates. “At the subsidiary level, we set clear, specific goals such as meeting project deadlines and managing costs.”

Looking ahead, the construction industry in Bahrain is primed for growth. “Infrastructure development and residential projects are booming, and we aim to be a key partner in these initiatives,” he says. A major success story within the group is Contratech International Trading (CIT), which has become the leading distributor of Hitachi Air Conditioners in Bahrain. Hitachi, a renowned Japanese brand with a legacy of excellence, was established in 1910 by Namihei Odaira in Hitachi City, Japan. What began as a modest machine repair shop has since grown into a global leader in air conditioning and cooling technology.

“Our partnership with Johnson Controls-Hitachi was a natural fit due to their commitment to innovation and sustainability,” he explains. “This collaboration has enabled both our businesses to thrive in the region.”

CIT’s focus on customer service and product quality sets it apart in the HVAC market. “Our team is constantly trained to provide expert advice and support,” says Mr. Zaidan. “Quality control and after-sales service are core pillars of our strategy.” As Group CEO, he manages leadership demands by prioritising time management, purpose and personal growth.

“Balancing leadership roles requires strong time management, a clear sense of purpose and a commitment to personal growth,” he says. “Staying connected to my team and the values that have shaped my career keeps me focused on our long-term vision.”
