bahrain best apps for may 2020

BTM brings you the low-down on the latest and greatest apps on the market.

APP: YUMMLY
Verdict: A great app for culinary wizards.

What is it?
You can use Yummly to discover recipes based on cuisine and diet, save your picks to your digital recipe box, and even get recipe recommendations based on your grocery list. This smart cooking sidekick also includes video tutorials to walk you through new techniques.

The Good
The app has a staggering two million recipes from the best culinary minds around, with offerings from Yummly’s test kitchen and other top recipe sites and food blogs like Allrecipes, Epicurious, Food52, Smitten Kitchen and more. They can also be personalised to your taste and dietary needs.

The Bad
The app interface could do with a major update. It’s a pain to log in and you can only log in via Google or Facebook, not with an email. It also doesn’t work too well in portrait mode compared to turning your phone landscape.

APP: WAZE
Traffic is the worst and Waze is the lifeline you’ve been looking for. The anti-traffic app collects user-shared information in a local area to provide traffic and accident updates in real-time. Waze boasts being the world’s largest community-based navigation and traffic app, so you can count on the fact that GPS info will be current and you’ll get where you’re going faster.

APP: MASSE
Founded by former product managers from Moda Operandi and Jet, Masse is a peer-to-peer product recommendations platform that, unlike Instagram and other options on the market, has no sponsored content or paid-for recommendations. Sign up for the service and you get recommendations on everything from candles and headphones, to moisturisers and boots, based on actual opinions on products.
