Porsche, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer, showed its credential-fuelled performance with a record time of 02:18:96 with the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, establishing the fastest completion of a lap for a luxury four-door hybrid saloon at the Bahrain International Circuit.
Porsche testing and development driver, Lars Kern, undertook the challenge of setting the lap record using standard road tyres. Colin Sattar, brand manager, Porsche Centre Bahrain, Behbehani Bros, commented on the lap time, saying: “Porsche has an unrivalled heritage of setting lap records on some of the world’s most famous race tracks, so to now add the Bahrain International Circuit to that list is an impressive accolade.”
The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, the fastest and most fuel-efficient Panamera to date, combines performance, comfort and efficiency to keep up the Porsche name. The record it set in Bahrain was one of six best times for this model category achieved in the Middle East, India and South Africa.
