Bahrain to Open 2023 Formula 1 Season

The Kingdom of Bahrain will once again host the opening race of the Formula One season as 2023 kicks off with a thrilling spectacle under the lights.

The race weekend will take place from March 3-5 and will be the fifth time that Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) has had the honour of being the opening race of the season.

BIC Chief Executive Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa says: “After the record crowds, electric atmosphere and incredible racing which we were delighted to host in 2022, it makes us hugely proud to be hosting the opening round of the season.

“It’s a great honour for us to be able to host the first race of the season and we thank Formula 1 for placing their trust in us for what we hope will be yet another landmark occasion for the sport.”

Next year’s Bahrain Grand Prix will mark its 19th edition and a landmark tenth race at night under BIC’s state-of-the-art floodlights.

In 2023, Formula 1 will host a record total of 24 races, with the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix taking place two weeks after the Bahraini spectacle.

For more information on the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix and other events at BIC, visit the circuit’s official website, www.bahraingp.com, or call the BIC Hotline on I7 450-000.
