Geneva Motor Show, Toyota

After missing its planned debut at the cancelled Geneva Motor Show, Toyota unveiled the new Yaris Cross compact SUV online to much excitedment.

The hybrid crossover utilises Toyota’s fourth generation hybrid technology and will be offered in both front-wheel and all-wheel-drive options. Built on the new GA-B platform it has the same wheelbase as the regular Yaris but is 240mm longer than the hatchback and it rides 30mm higher.

Though similar in looks to its stablemate, it has a more rugged appearance and the body is bigger, giving more room for passengers. And, as per normal with all Toyota vehicles, it is packed with safety features.

Full details of the new model are still emerging but it is expected to hit the European market early next year.
