Electric Freedom

BTM’s Amna Syed gives the rundown on the iCAUR V27 and 03T. From range anxiety to everyday practicality, she explores how REEV technology is making the move to electrified driving that much easier.
There is plenty to like about going electric. The technology promises a different driving experience, but for many drivers, practical questions remain.
What happens when the battery runs low? Can I drive long distances without constantly thinking about charging? Is an electrified vehicle practical enough for everyday life? And do I really have to give up the things I enjoy about driving?
These are the questions that can make the move to an EV feel like a bigger decision than it needs to be. The iCAUR V27 and 03T approach those concerns through range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) technology. The V27 offers the scale and presence of a full-sized SUV, while the 03T packages the concept into a more compact alternative. So, instead of another list of specifications, here are the questions that really matter.

Concern #1:
“What if I need to go further?”
For anyone considering an EV, running low on charge far from home can be enough to put the brakes on the whole idea. This is where REEV technology changes the proposition. It combines electric drive with a petrol-powered range extender. If a charger is not conveniently available, you can refuel instead. The fuel powers a generator that supplies electricity to the battery, allowing you to keep driving without finding a charging point.
The V27 pairs a 34.31kWh battery with a 1.5-litre turbo REEV system and offers a quoted overall range of more than 1,000km.
The 03T uses the same battery capacity and engine configuration, with a quoted range of more than 800km.
For Bahrain drivers, that means longer journeys need not be planned around the next charging point.
Concern #2:
“Will an EV actually fit into my life?”
A car can be technologically impressive and still be completely impractical.
The V27 does not have that problem.
At 5,045mm long with a 2,900mm wheelbase, it is a proper full-sized SUV. There is generous room for passengers, while the spacious rear bench and large glass roof create an interior that feels open and comfortable.
The 03T provides a more compact alternative. At 4,503mm long with a 2,783mm wheelbase, it retains SUV practicality in a smaller footprint, with a flexible rear load area adding to its everyday usefulness.
For Bahrain drivers, the choice comes down to how much space and road presence they want.
Concern #3:
“Will going electric mean giving up performance?”
The figures suggest otherwise. The V27’s REEV system delivers a quoted 450hp and 505Nm, accelerating from 0-100km/h in 5.9 seconds.
That gives the full-sized SUV ample power for motorway driving and overtaking, with plenty left for enjoying the acceleration when the road opens up.
The smaller 03T delivers a quoted 422hp and the same 505Nm of torque, reaching 0-100km/h in 5.5 seconds. Whether choosing the larger V27 or more compact 03T, there is substantial performance beneath the accelerator.

Concern #4:
“Can an EV still feel adventurous?”
The V27 certainly looks the part.
Its boxy silhouette and high stance give it an unmistakably rugged presence, while the round LED-style headlights strengthen its distinctive SUV identity.
iCAUR also shows the V27 tackling sand dunes in its brand material, reinforcing its adventure-focused positioning. Its ability on sand and Bahrain’s roads is ultimately something to experience first-hand.
The 03T carries a similarly purposeful character in a smaller footprint. Its squared bodywork and substantial stance keep the adventure-focused attitude intact.
Concern #5:
“Will all that technology actually make my life easier?”
There is a lot of technology in modern cars. The question is whether you will actually use it. The V27’s driver-assistance equipment includes adaptive cruise control and blind-spot assist alongside lane-departure warning and lane-keep assist. A 360-degree bird’s-eye camera is joined by front and rear sensors, with driver monitoring providing further assistance.
The 03T offers many of the same systems, including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot assist and a 360-degree bird’s-eye camera, alongside lane assistance and front and rear sensors.
The cameras and sensors can make manoeuvring easier, while adaptive cruise control provides useful support on longer motorway journeys.

Concern #6:
“Do EVs all have to look futuristic?”
The V27’s “Classic Never Fades” philosophy is reflected in its upright proportions and squared-off bodywork, drawing on familiar off-road cues while retaining contemporary detailing.
That gives the V27 plenty of character without trying too hard to announce that it is electrified.
Inside, tan upholstery sits alongside a broad dashboard and large central display, while the generous glass roof adds to the feeling of space.
The 03T follows a similar approach. Its angular exterior gives way to a contemporary cabin centred around a prominent display, while the rear seats can be folded for additional carrying capacity.
Concern #7:
“What kind of SUV do I need?”
This is where the differences between the two models matter. The V27 is aimed at drivers who want the scale and presence of a full-sized SUV. Its spacious cabin supports that role, while 450hp provides the performance to match. iCAUR quotes an overall range exceeding 1,000km.
The 03T brings the same REEV principle into a smaller package, delivering 422hp and 505Nm with a quoted overall range of more than 800km.
Whichever size suits you, REEV technology means access to a charger does not have to dictate every journey. When charging is convenient, you can plug in.
When it is not, the range extender provides another way to keep moving. The best way to find out whether it works for you is to get behind the wheel.
Book a test drive with iCAUR and experience the V27 or 03T for yourself.
