Leading urban developer Diyar Al Muharraq has announced its Platinum sponsorship of the Bahrain Sustainable Smart Cities Forum 2018, for the second consecutive year. The forum will be held under the patronage of His Excellency Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning, from the 4th to the 5th of September, 2018 at the ART Rotana Amwaj Islands.
The Bahrain Sustainable Smart Cities Forum’s third edition aims to bring an expert community of academics, decision makers, researchers, practitioners, real estate developers, investors and policy makers from the urban sphere on regional and international levels; to discuss the immense challenges of building a sustainable smart city. The Forum will also highlight the importance of the execution of collaborative, innovative thinking from all sectors of the society to provide solutions for them. A number of associated awards aimed at encouraging initiatives and projects in the field of sustainable smart cities in both public and private sectors will also be distributed.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq, Dr. Maher Al Shaer said that the event positively contributed to the economy of Bahrain, which is in line with Diyar Al Muharraq's vision and dedication to its social responsibility.
He further said that the conference presents an important opportunity to discuss and highlight the concept of smart cities with a range of local and international experts in order to find new and innovative solutions to tackle developers’ challenge.
Given the remarkable success of the preceding editions, the third edition aims to build on that accomplishment and be a platform for an experience exchange programme and to share knowledge in the field of sustainable smart practices in a wider range.
