Following the success of the first online music event, the Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre will be hosting the second edition of ‘Music to The Rescue’ on May 25.
The Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre was founded several years ago by the late Tony ‘The Dogfather’ Waters and currently cares for nearly 400 animals. Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, fundraising events across the Kingdom have been brought to a halting stop. However, part-time Voluntary Event Organiser, Susan Cook, came up with an innovative way to raise some funds for the shelter, all while entertaining the masses at home and getting several talented musicians involved.
The event will be livestreamed from 3 pm to 9 pm and will feature 20 local and regional musicians. This includes Mo Zowayed, Abyooki, May Al Qassim, Ahmed Aq, Jason Carter (featured here: https://www.bahrainthismonth.com/magazine/interviews/jason-carter-bahrain-musical-quarantine) and many more prolific artists! The full list of acts and the programme schedule is available on the event’s official Facebook group (details below).
The first edition of Music to the Rescue had raised a much-need BD 1000 for the shelter. However, with daily expenses ranging from BD 170 to BD 200 in order to feed and look after all the shelter animals, ongoing fundraising is required. To show your support for the event, be sure to tune in, share and donate any amount possible!
