Active Cases of Coronavirus in Bahrain Currently 1719

The number of active cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Bahrain is 1719 as of 3 pm this afternoon.

According to the Ministry of Health website, 1718 of these active cases are stable while 1 individual remains critical. To date, the Ministry of Health has tested 141809 individuals. Since the first case of the coronavirus was confirmed in the Kingdom on February 24, 1737 individuals have been successfully treated and discharged.

Recently, an ICU Field Hospital was constructed in Sitra in a record 14 days. The hospital has been fully equipped with a capacity of 152 beds, 152 respirators, and an on-site medical laboratory, which is considered unprecedented in comparison to global field hospitals. Furthermore,the site  will be staffed with a specialized medical team of 55 doctors and 250 nurses. In addition, the Sitra ICU field hospital is equipped with X-ray machines, mobile dialysis units, an integrated store for medical drugs, all to ensure the provision of high-quality medical services in accordance with international best practice.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus in Bahrain, the Kingdom has swiftly implemented preventative measures including numerous testing and quarantine protocols.
