A consignment of medical supplies, consisting of 760 Oxygen cylinders and 10 Oxygen concentrators, provided by the local Indian and Bahraini organisations, was shipped to India on May 20 through INS TARKASH.
INS TARKASH arrived in Bahrain as part of Operation Samudra Setu-II to undertake shipment of medical supplies in support of India’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement, The Embassy of India in Bahrain thanked the Indian and Bahraini organisations and Indian community in Bahrain for coming forward to join the collective fight against the pandemic.
"We would like to particularly mention the following organisations, which have contributed to this effort: Bahrain India Society, Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam, Rotary Club of Manama, Bahrain Chapter of ICAI, Bahrain Odia Samaj, Indian Ladies Association, Friends Social Association, Thattai Hindu Mercantile Community, World NRI Council, Telugu Kala Samithi, Institute of Engineers – Bahrain Chapter, Thattai Hindu Community, Rajasthanis in Bahrain, Bahrain Entrepreneurship Organization, Samskruthi Bahrain, Bahrain India Culture & Arts Society, and Palakkad Arts & Cultural Theatre."
"We would also like to thank the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain for facilitating the shipment of the medical items to India,” said the statement.
