Al Haddad Motors Earns Information Security Certification

Al Haddad Motors, the authorised general distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Bahrain, has obtained ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, an internationally recognised standard for information security management systems.

The certification covers the company’s corporate IT infrastructure and associated systems supporting its business operations, within the scope defined by its Statement of Applicability.

ISO/IEC 27001:2022 provides a framework for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an organisation’s information security management system. It supports a structured approach to managing information security risks and reviewing the procedures used to protect data.

The certification process involved reviewing and refining Al Haddad Motors’ internal procedures, coordinating work across departments, conducting internal audits and completing a management review before the final certification audit.

Mohammed Mohteshamuddin, Group IT Manager at Al Haddad Motors, led the internal coordination of the project, working with the company’s departments and management team throughout the implementation and audit process.

Warren Hudson, Chief Executive Officer of Al Haddad Motors, said the increasing digitalisation of the business made information protection and robust systems essential to maintaining the trust of customers, partners and employees.

Mr. Hudson recognised the contributions of the IT and HR teams, management and employees across the organisation. He said the certification established a framework for the continued improvement of the company’s information security practices.

The work also sought to incorporate information security into everyday business processes, with responsibility shared across departments.

Al Haddad Motors plans to continue investing in its people, processes and systems to address changing information security and cybersecurity requirements.
