Bahrain: Citizens Cautioned Against Purchasing Jewellery from Social Media Accounts

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism has warned people against dealing with social media accounts unlicensed to sell jewellery in order to protect their rights and avoid becoming victims of fraud or deception.

The ministry also cautioned that it would take legal action within the national commitment to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.

The ministry said that it has referred to the competent authorities media accounts that sell jewelry on Instagram without obtaining a licensed commercial registration.

The sale is a violation of the Commercial Register Law 27 / 2015 and its amendments and of the special procedures to combat money laundering and terrorist financing in the business of the persons registered in the Commercial Register stated in the minister's order 173 / 2017.

People are urged to verify the legality, registration and licensing of any account on www.sijilat.bh, the ministry said.
