Bahrain Covid-19 cases fall below 200 as vaccination milestone nears

Bahrain continued to show that it has the Covid-19 pandemic under greater control as the Kingdom yesterday recorded 166 new Covid-19 cases alongside 419 recoveries and three deaths.

There have now been 1,351 fatalities in total. The Health Ministry said on social media that of the new cases, 82 were expat workers, 80 contacts of local cases and four travel-related.

An additional 419 people recovered, taking the total recoveries to 260,782. Of the 3,510 active cases, 40 are receiving treatment and 91 in critical condition.

Bahrain has so far registered a total of 265,643 cases.

In further news, the country will achieve a new vaccination milestone with one million people set to complete both doses of a Covid-19 jab by the weekend, comprising 70 percent of the country.

At the time of writing, 983,247 citizens and residents have taken both shots of a vaccine out of a population of 1.5m.
