Bahrain Darts Masters: This duo is representing the Kingdom

Two Bahraini darts players will compete in the Bahrain Darts Masters on January 12 and 13. Bassim Mahmood and Abdulpaser Yusuf will represent the Kingdom as it hosts the debut event as part of the PDC World Series of Darts. The competition is taking place at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.

The local pair qualified in December. They finished in the top two of a national qualifying tournament held over two days at the Bahrain Rugby Football club in Saar.

Mahmood, Yusuf,  Arif Abbas and Aref Murad, made it through to the qualifiers’ semi-finals. Mahmood and Yusuf advanced to the final. It was Mahmood who emerged victorious after winning their match 7-0.

Joining the duo will be six other players from the wider region. The legendary Singapore star Paul Lim, Japan’s Toru Suzuki and Philippines’ Lourence Ilagan will all compete in the global games.

World champions Peter Wright, Gerwyn Price, Rob Cross and Raymond van Barneveld will aso take part in the tournament. Grand Slam of Darts champion Michael Smith and  two-time World Series winner Dimitri Van den Bergh will also be there.

The event marks the opening round of the PDC World Series of Darts global tour. The venue will be transformed into a dome tent, which is expected to mirror the atmosphere being seen at the World Darts Championship in London.

There are still limited tickets available. So head on over to bahraingp.com where information on times and prices can be acquired.  The tickets can be bought on the BIC website or through the BIC Hotline on +973-17450000.
