Bahrain Education Ministry launches online student transfer service

The Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), launched a Student Transfer eService via the National Portal, bahrain.bh, allowing parents to submit requests for their students to transfer between public and private schools and check the status of their applications.

Transfer service, from Sunday August 23 until Thursday September 10, 2020, includes the option to transfer students from private to public schools and vice versa, and transfer between public schools and between private schools as well. The above dates may be extended if necessary.

“The launch of this new service is in line with the ministry’s continued dedication to elevating the quality of its services and taking them online,” Education Minister Dr. Majid Al Nauimi said.

“The ministry has already provided several of its services via digital platforms to make them more accessible to the public. The ministry has a very productive partnership with the iGA, which was always been supportive of its endeavors.”

iGA Chief Executive Mohammed Ali Al Qaed said the iGA is committed to following the directives of the Minister of Interior, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, that emphasize the importance of cooperation among government entities and the digitization of their services.

“This new eService will streamline procedures for students’ parents, eliminating the need for physical attendance at the Ministry’s offices,” he said.

“It will also lower government expenditure and save time and effort in completing transfer procedures for public and private school students.”

The launch of the new service comes as part of the precautionary measures taken by the Kingdom to combat the coronavirus pandemic by promoting social distancing and protecting the health and safety of students and parents.
