Bahrain has expressed its solidarity with and support for the speech made by Egypt's President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, regarding the right of his country to defend its national security against the developments in Libya.
The Egyptian President delivered his speech during his inspection of the Western Military Zone.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Bahrain's support for the President’s affirmation of Egypt’s determination to protect and secure its western borders with their strategic depth from the threats of the terrorist militia and mercenaries, to restore security and stability in Libya as an integral part of Egypt’s security and stability and Arab national security, and to stop the bloodshed of the Libyan people.
The ministry commended the speech of the Egyptian President as a clear and highly significant message to those who have the intention to compromise the national security of Egypt and Arab countries and Egypt's commitment to its values and principles in defending Arab integrity and interests.
The ministry also lauded the great wisdom and genuine true intentions of the Egyptian leadership towards the conflict in Libya that were reflected in the Cairo Initiative to meet the aspirations of the Libyan people for security, stability and peace that has received regional and international support.
The ministry stressed Bahrain's support for Egypt and all the measures taken to preserve its security and stability.
