Bahrain Imposes Strict Regulations and Closures Until June 10. Here are the details.

Bahrain will implement strict rules and regulations, including closures of select venues, from 11:59pm tomorrow (May 27) which will last for two weeks until 12am on June 10.

The Ministry of Health and the National Medical Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19) announced the measures in a press conference today and comes after a significant rise in cases and fatalities over the past few days.

The measures include the following:

  • All malls, cinemas, conference, barbers, salons, spas and industrial and commercial establishments will be closed and limited to delivery only.
  • The implementation of work from home by government entities by as much as 70 percent of the workforce.
  • Remote learning to be implemented at all public and private schools, nurseries and universities except for exams.
  • Closure of private gyms, swimming pools, beaches and recreational games.
  • No attendance at sport activities.

Some places will still be open, which include supermarkets, pharmacies, cold stores, fishing shops, bakeries, petrol stations, private hospitals, banks, ATMs, admin offices with no customer interaction and factories.
