Since its launch in 1992, the annual Bahrain International Music Festival hosts a joyful celebration attracting and blending world cultures from the Arab world and beyond, a musical rendezvous live from the Kingdom of Bahrain’s cultural sites.

Celebrating its thirty first year, the Bahrain International Music Festival has become an annual tradition unifying culture and music.

The festival showcases a variety of music genres, such as traditional and modern, local, Arab and international. This eclectic combination, delivered by our lineup of artists between the 1st to the 7th of October, will take place at the Bahrain National Theatre, the Cultural Hall and Dar Al Muharraq.

In a dazzling evening at the heart of the National Theatre, the Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra will launch as the first orchestra in the Kingdom, led by Maestro Mubarak Najem. The orchestra will become an important musical landmark in the Kingdom's cultural scene. Its debut will feature Bahraini orchestral music, in addition to pieces that fuse international classical music with the magic of Arabic music.

The Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra was established on 26 March 2022, by Bahraini musician Dr. Mubarak Najem, General Director of the Bahrain Police Band and founder of the Bahrain Music Institute. The orchestra currently includes more than 100 musicians and choirs. The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, have supported this project which shapes cultural identity, and ensuring His Royal Highness' interest in presenting the Kingdom as a prominent destination that attracts all forms of cultural creativity.

An Evening of Authentic Moroccan Heritage by the Rabat Troupe for Instrumental Music

The Rabat Troupe for Instrumental Music was founded by Mohamed Amin Al-Dabi in 1987. The troupe has been able to refine its talents since its foundation and demonstrate its competencies with high professionalism, both inside of Morocco and out, participating at many national and international cultural festivals.

The troupe collaborated with the Moroccan Ministry of Culture on various projects, such as recordings with the artists Ahmed Piro and Abdellatif Benmansour, as well as recordings with the artist Mohammed Bajeddoub and the artist Bahaa Ronda at the Arab World Institute in Paris and at the Kennedy Center in Washington respectively. This event comes in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication in the Kingdom of Morocco.

A Tribute to the Late Mohammed Zowayed by the Bahrain Music Band Conducted by Maestro Zeyad Zaiman

On the fortieth anniversary of his passing, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities presents a tribute to the Bahraini singer Mohammed Zowayed (1900 - 1982) in honor of his artistic career launched in the 1920s, accompanied by the Bahrain Music Band led by Maestro Zeyad Zaiman. The late Mohammed Zowayed was distinguished by his melodious voice, and his songs spread from Bahrain to the Gulf countries, India, Egypt and worldwide. He was known as the "Ambassador of Bahraini Song", leaving his mark in the local artistic heritage.

Established in 1997, The Bahrain Music Band has achieved great local success and represented the Kingdom of Bahrain in both regional and international events, continuing its service of the lyrical and musical movement alike.

Established in 1935, the Ismaeel Dawas Band continues to perform the ancient folk lyrical heritage of the island to this day. A staple at the Kingdom’s cultural and national celebrations, this band exposes younger generations to their inherited musical heritage to endure its sustainability and preserve it from extinction.

Japanese Traditional Drum Performance by the Taiko Ensemble “Wagaku*Miyabi”

The Japanese Taiko ensemble “Wagaku*Miyabi” is back in Bahrain! The band presents a sophisticated and powerful performance of traditional Japanese drums “Taiko”, which will surely delight fans of Japanese music. The ensemble combines the sound of the “Taiko” drums with other Japanese musical instruments, their repertoire extending to modern music as well, as they spread this important aspect of Japanese culture around the world.

This event comes in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in celebration of Golden Jubilee of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In her first concert in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Palestinian singer Noel Kharman comes in strong with her melodious voice, enthralling audiences with her songs that mix Arabic and Western music, blending these two worlds. Her career breakthrough took place in 2015 when she published her first mash-up cover, which was a mix of ‘Hello’ by Adele with ‘Kifak Inta’ by Fairuz. The cover went viral overnight and since then, she became an instant internet sensation. The cover has gained over 33 million views on YouTube.

Her vision to bring the Middle Eastern sound and culture to international and influential platforms is coming to life. You can catch Noel performing live around the region, as well as continuing to release new original music.
