Bahrain Over 23,000 Face Mask Violations Registered

Bahrain’s Police Directorates continue to promote awareness among citizens and residents while highlighting the importance of following precautionary measures against the spread of the coronavirus, including wearing masks and social distancing in public places and shops.

Since the enforcement of the order, 23,729 violations of not wearing face masks at public places and shops have been registered. The Northern Governorate Police Directorate, which carried out 530 awareness campaigns, reported 1538 violations related to the rule of social distancing and 5306 violations of not wearing masks at public places.

This was revealed by Assistant Chief of Public Security for Operations and Training Affairs, Brigadier Dr. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa. Dr. Shaikh Hamad also hailed the awareness of the public in promoting  the fight against the spread of the coronavirus and their commitment to practicing precautionary measures against its spread.

Meanwhile, the Capital Governorate Police Directorate took 367 steps to protect social distancing in the district, along with reporting 3853 mask-related violations. It also held 607 awareness campaigns.

Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate registered 1138 social distancing violations and 5974 mask-related violations. The department also organised 1026 awareness campaigns.

The Southern Governorate reported 2312 social distancing violations and 3133  mask-related violations. The department also held 378 awareness campaigns and disinfection operations.

The Operations Directorate of the Public Security Presidency received 5186 mask-related violations. It also took 340 steps to protect social distancing.

The General Directorate of Ports Security reported 97 mask-related violations and carried  operations to facilitate the evacuation of 17048  travellers from Bahrain, along with the facilitation of the testing of 80864  travellers who arrived from abroad.

The General Directorate of Civil Defence carried 67904 disinfecting operations of buildings, government establishments and roads. It also carried 362 training courses on correct disinfecting methods.
